The inclusion of Armin Najib in the gallery’s program responds to its core objective: to foreground fine craft practices that bring together technical mastery, material investigation, and a strong authorial approach to the object.

Najib clearly embodies this position. His work is rooted in a direct engagement with making, where he operates simultaneously as creator and executor. Metal is approached as an active system—defined by balance, tension, and transformation—within an open process that evolves through experimentation and continuous response to the material.

His pieces take the form of sculptural adornment and wearable art, operating in a hybrid space between autonomous object and bodily extension. They move beyond decorative function, asserting themselves as constructions that carry identity, presence, and intention. Each work exists independently yet is fully activated through its relationship with the body.

It is within this territory that Najib’s practice aligns with the gallery’s vision. These are body art objects grounded in a rigorous fine craft approach, while clearly expanding into a conceptual and artistic field. The body is no longer a passive support, but an active agent in the activation and transformation of the work.

When worn, these structures extend beyond the physical limits of the body, forming a kind of “third skin” that reshapes silhouette and introduces new spatial relationships. A new dimension emerges—one that exceeds traditional bodily volume and redefines the boundaries between body, form, and environment.

Najib’s selection is therefore rooted in his ability to transform the object into experience. His practice exemplifies a contemporary approach to fine craft that moves beyond technique, positioning itself as a field where material, body, and perception intersect in critical and innovative ways.

A space where touch, memory, and material converge - where jewellery is not merely worn, but lived. The Living Trace invites you into a realm where the hand shapes more than form; it shapes time itself.

In a world unsettled by ecological and cultural shifts, these crafted objects pulse with quiet defiance. They are vessels of inheritance, but also seeds of what is yet to come. Each piece - a fragment of a larger story - carries the imprint of the maker and the weight of histories, whispered and worn.

Moving beyond adornment, jewellery becomes a talisman, a rebellion against the ephemeral, a map charting resilience and radical care. Between fragility and permanence, these works murmur of survival, of bodies remembered, of futures imagined.
